February 18th, 2010

100 mots pour la folie : 5 months in the works, 600 clips from the NFB archives, a 12 000 word glossary in constant evolution, and a semantic engine that learns and creates bonds between words you enter. Add an original soundtrack by Quebec’s indie rock legends Malajube, and you start getting what the experience is about.
A project we were delighted to be a part of, commissioned by NFB, and that’s starting to make a lot of noise (Le Devoir, Cyberpresse, Métro, Le Lien)

What’s coming up

September 21st, 2009

We haven’t been very good at updating our blog since, well… the begining of summer. First there was some well deserved vacation time, then things got too busy again. Let’s get things back on track, starting with a fresh good news : Les Appendices just won the 2009 Gémeaux award for «Best Website for a TV show - Drama, humour, variety or animation». That makes us really happy.

Many other projects are underway these days. Let’s mention another teamwork with FEED on the just released site of the VIVA! Art Action festival, as well as a soon to be online  collaboration with Daniel Fortin and Provokat. Then there is a site with  Espace In.Fusion, an installation with Moment Factory, a campaig with Publicis and an interactive experience with the NFB. It’s going to be fun!

Oh, and perhaps you also noticed our boss on the  Faire l’INIS campaign posters…

Analekta

June 22nd, 2009

Analekta approached us a few months ago to create a series of web videos.  The objectives were twofold. Firstly, to use web videos to increase their fan base by making classical music more accessible to a younger audience. And secondly, the videos would be used to promote their artists on a national and international level.

The idea: To create 2 minute videos that capture the essence of each artist’ most recent recordings.

The challenge: To stay nimble and as invisible as possible not to disturb the artists during the recording sessions. The videos are shot, edited and uploaded the same day.

The result: Thousands of online-views and a happy client, the videos can  also be viewed on-board Air Canada flights.

The latest video is Lorraine Desmarais Big Band who will be performing at the Montreal Jazz Festival with Montreal’ gem Oliver Jones as special guest.

It has been a privilege to work with such luminaries as Angèle Dubeau, Kent Nagano, Alain Lefèvre and Matthias Maute. On a personal level, it’s quite therapeutic to be at recording sessions with such great artists.
